In developments where the good topsoil has been scraped off and hauled away, our “50/50” instantly brings life back to the land and is ready to hug your roots.

The Brooks Compost original grade-A compost. Food waste, eggshells, leaves, wood waste, animal bedding and other feedstocks create this soil amendment. Brooks Compost will NEVER contain any biosolids, hazardous materials, or any waste materials that the Brooks family wouldn’t feel comfortable growing their own food in. The eggshells provide a natural source of slow release lime for our acidic NC soils. Screened to ½”, this compost is perfect for most applications where compost is needed as a soil amendment. Best used as an initial amendment that is worked into the soil or as a topdressing.

Aged pine bark fine particle with splintered wood size averaging 1⁄2 inch or less. This is an excellent material to till into red clay, which is found in most areas of North Carolina. It helps to loosen and aerate the soil, which promotes plant growth and retains moisture, helping save water. Premium Soil Conditioner also helps to establish and promote deep roots and healthy plants. Great for use in plants that thrive in acidic soil include azaleas, holly, rhododendrons and hydrangeas.

With all of our soil orders, we offer an option for our customers to add a tarp. This is a good option for customers who are are traveling with their mulch products. This 16′ x 20′ tarp will protect you from losing any of your new mulch or quarry products on the drive home.
